Harbhajan Mann was singing Kveesari (ਕਵਿਸਰੀ) in childhood with his younger brother Gursewak Mann.
His father Late Harnek Singh Mann was very close to a famous Kaveesar late Karnail Singh Paras Ramuwalia, which was famous in Punjab. When they come in Khemuana they stayed at their home. Mann and his younger brother saw these kaveesar to start their practice. It was a golden moment for them. From here Harbhajan Mann and his brother Gursewak Mann’s journey of singing has been starts.
When Harbhajan Mann was 12 years old, his mother left the world. Then his elder Sister Surinder Kaur invited all to Canada in 1980. Here he got training of Music from Music Director Balbir Singh Bhangu and Shaikh Hameed. His childhood hero Paras was also at Canada. Both brothers were singing Kaveesari at Canada’s Gurudwara. listeners appreciate them.
HMV Company released his first cassette ‘Ishq De Mamle’. After this Harbhajan Mann released his cassette ‘Chitheye Ne Chitheye’ under music direction Charanjit Ahuja.
After this Mann did not look back. With ‘Oye Hoe’ he became famous throughout the world. After this Dil tod na devi, Kahda Labardar ve, Gidha punjabana Da, Mundri Nisani, Panth Tere Diyan Gunjan, Satrangi Peengh, Dil dol gya, Mouj mastian and released many more cassette .
Harbhajan Mann entered Punjabi Cinema in 2002 with ‘Jee Aaya Nu’ under direction of Manmohan Singh. This movie returned the Punjabis with cinema again. After this Assa Nu Mann watna da, Dil apna Punjabi, Mitti wajan Mardi, Mera Pind My Home, Jag Jioandian De Mele, Heer Ranjaha movies were released.
